Living your Dream

3–5 minutes

Every one of us have a dream. Well, if I ask some 100 people on what their dream is, 90% of them would say a dream which has only money filled in it.

How many of us follow our passion?

Following passion is not just joining a Piano class if your passion is music or passion is not just attending a summer coaching camp in cricket if your passion is cricket.

PASSION is actually your life. Passion actually drives to life towards happiness.

So now, how to follow a passion? Let me explain with a real life example.

He was a normal child born in a normal middle class family. He was good at studies and used to play all the time in the streets of Madurai. However during his 11 STD, he got a chance to play for his school cricket team in a tournament and that stage proved to be a turning point in his life.  He proved himself to be one step ahead of others. And finally he started to play professional cricket. From then, his life started changing.

Usually to represent Tamil Nadu cricket team, the process is such that, first the player must get into the district team. The inter district matches will be played and from the

Performances of those matches a combined district team will be taken which will be playing matches with the Chennai City team. If a player plays extraordinarily well in all these matches, he will be a part of the state team.

Now, coming back to the player which we are talking about, it took just 2 years of rigorous practice for him to become the CAPTAIN of the Tamil Nadu state cricket team.

Whoa!! , Isn’t it mind boggling? But we should clearly now understand the fire in his belly that took him this far. It is not just practice that brought him this far in 2 years’ time but the passion that he had and the perseverance that he showed in his tough times.

While he was just blossoming in cricket he lost his father, however this heavy loss did not hold him back from reaching his goal. I remember him going for matches from Madurai to Chennai with no money in hand except for travel.

He toiled hard. His heart was always saying that one day he is going to win. His passion and rigor did not allow him to sleep until his cricket gave life to him.

Days passed; soon he became a star in Tamil Nadu cricket.

He travelled across the world to play cricket. He went to England to play club matches, he has been to Scotland.

Also he was a part of a Srilankan first class cricket club. Who will get all these privileges of travelling abroad and doing the thing that you are best equipped to do.

His passion gave him all he wanted. He became the captain of Tamil Nadu Cricket team.

He is now employed in one of the Top firms in Chennai. He made his family proud. Most importantly he made himself proud.

His passion and deep love towards his profession is driving him till now.

He is none other than my dear brother Subramania Siva. Also currently he is running a cricket academy in Madurai to promote cricketing talent in and around the city.

How many of us actually follow our passion? Each one of us may be good at something. It is important for us to discover our strengths and work on that with utmost faith.

The faith on your passion will surely give a life that is far better than a life that you are currently dreaming far.

Trust me; just studying engineering, getting a job in IT does make you an achiever.

Do justice to your talents, follow your passion and CHASE your dreams.
