Tamil Nadu Agricultural University is a leading agro technology provider of India and its graduates are recognized throughout the world. Though the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) came into being on June 1, 1971, it had its genesis from establishment of an Agricultural School at Saidapet, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India as early as 1868 which was later relocated at Coimbatore during 1906.

The University is offering Thirteen Undergraduate Degree Programs, Forty Graduate Degree Programs and Twenty six Doctoral Programs in 11 Colleges distributed in eight campuses all over Tamil Nadu. Besides, the University has 36 Research Stations for agro technology development and 14 Farm Science Centers for outreach.

Ranking Procedure:

Mark in each of the four main subjects would be converted to 50 as follows, (Marks obtained/Maximum mark)*50 and the aggregate of the four subjects would be taken for ranking for maximum of 200 marks (50 x4 = 200).

Physics, Chemistry, Biology with any one of the following subjects as fourth (elective) subject
viz., Biochemistry or Biotechnology or Microbiology or Home Science or Computer Science.
Group II (A):
Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology

B.Tech. (Agricultural Engineering)
B.Tech. (Food Process Engineering)
B.Tech. (Energy and Environmental Engineering)

Candidates who studied Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Computer Science are eligible to apply
